Knowing When to Keep Going
Keep going when the direction still matters. Keep going when the evidence, however small, shows development. Keep going when your abilities are growing. Keep going when the process is teaching you something useful. Keep going when the results are slow but the foundation is becoming stronger. Keep going when the goal remains meaningful and the conditions can support it. But do not keep going merely because you have already started.
Do not confuse suffering with commitment. Do not confuse time with progress. Do not call every delay a hidden breakthrough. Do not assume that because something has not worked yet, it must eventually work. Sometimes the most courageous sentence is: “I have given this enough time. I have learned what I needed to learn. It is time to try something else.” There is wisdom in that sentence too.
